I agree with your overall point that one's life, no matter who it is, is gradually drained of significance after one's death to the point of nothing.... However, if death is true or certain as you contend, then it follows that life is true or certain as well. (Death is contingent on the existence of life, and vice versa.) More important, you have not established any grounds for the truth or certainty of death; rather, you have merely assumed it, which takes us to Challenge the Philosophy Comp 1, on truly knowing or not truly knowing who we are. (For death to be true, we need to truly know who we are...)

In response to:

If were lucky, we get 75 years on this Earth to leave our mark on the world. After were gone, everything we did becomes a memory to someone. Now when they die, the memory dies too. So, eventually, our entire exsistence is forgotten. We are a passed down thought to our children's children, who never met us, never saw us. We are no longer an importance too anyone. Nothing we did matters anymore. So in retrospect, did it ever? " Life is but a dream..." And in truth, thats all it is. We wake up from a dream, remember it a while, and it's gone. The dream doesn't matter, or affect anything or anyone. We walk around trying too find a purpose to life, a deeper meaning to exsistence. Why must there be a deeper meaning? Why can't everyone accept the fact that it doesn't matter? We all will be someone's dream at some point after death. Something they remember a while, then forget like it didn't ever happen. We are born , raised to be our parents, and sent into the world too do the same. So we look to a religion to give us comfort that what we do does matter. Man made religion, in its purest and flawed form. So its just a " de ja vu " of childhood. You put your everything into some television show that portrays life as ever happy, and ever ordinary. No change. Comfort zones at age five. Everything is new so your exploring things that unknown too you, will influence the rest of your life. But once you've died and passed your seed down which has been passed down, and that seed is passed down, you are a memory that will be forgotten. So if I killed myself when I was 7, I would've been forgotten, and nothing would have mattered. The same fate we all face. Nothingness. Which is the path of ever human being. It doesn't have to be deeper than that. These days, you have to believe in something too have a purpose. There is NOTHING to believe in because, its all made by man. The most flawed creature on the face of the earth. We have the choice too know that we shouldn't do something, and yet we do it. We choose too do the wrong thing. And when faced with the consequence, WE RUN. What's the point if you're dead, there is no consequence, nothing too held for, and evenutally, you are forgotten. So look at your life and ask yourself, what is your biggest accomplishment? Then think of the greatest accomplishment, of all mankind? Yours wont amount too anything near it. And someday there's wont mean a goddamn thing. We are forever over shadowed by the future becasuse its our nature too be bigger and better. Life is as comfortable as we make it. And thats all we want, comfort. It keeps you from killing yourself. Who gives a fuck. Do it becasue it won't matter. If something fades away, did it ever matter at all? If the possibility that it wont matter is evident, why make it a living thing? Fuck we all serve a purpose, we all matter, lets hold hands across the world. Mankind will die out eventually and what will be left too show for it? Nothing. It won't matter. In retrospect, did it ever? How many runs you made in the big game, how long your dick is, what trouble you made, will be non-exsistent because, it is overshadowed by the fact htat it can't be remembered. Its like it never happened. Now, even if it happens a billion years from now, who cares. You will be a name on a family tree in 200 years. Long forgotten. You never exsisted. Th only proof of your exsistence will die just the same. The family name will be forgotten. You will be lost in time. And nothing matters. What's the point in finding a purpose too something that won't be remembered, won't be important, won't even have ever exsisted? " The Meaning of Life, is merely only as important as we make it out too be. It's just a line on a peice of paper. An idea in our heads that will be lost 100 years from now. Because there is no meaning too something that dies and is lost. The meaning of life 500 years ago, is completly different from what " society " holds true today. The earth was flat, the sun moved around us. All those men's ideas were wrong and are now, forgetten, and just a joke. " How could they think that? " Your ancestors didn't know you'd exsist and you dont know how many of them exsisted. They don't matter, they never did becasue, nobody knows them , they are gone. A name on a peice of cement too look at. That is all we have are our names on tomestones. Our only true and honest proof of exsisting, and even then will be cracked lost and moved for a new motel too be built. We place prices on our dead. " You'll give me a million dollars, too move my family's remains? YOU ARE FUCKING RIGHT!" And in a secoind, our whole life is signed away, and lost. No respect, no love, you become a bank statement. And is that how you want too be remembered? In essence you won't be You'll decay, be eaten, and then all you have is a box. That probably 100 years from now, will rot away too. You don't matter, I don't matter noone will. Once we kill ourselves off, we are nothing and we don't exsist, and frankly DIDN'T ever. Death is the only truth in life. The only certainty. AND WE RUN FROM IT. Its all we have. We cant outrun it. We can prolong it and for what? Nothing is real. Reality is our escape from the fact that we all we fade out of the light of life. Don't fall in love with the fact that you will live forever in memory, because it won't happen. Everybody you know will die. Everyone that knew you will die. And your memory is gone. Dead.
